Brrrrrrr

Our visits the last couple of days have continued to go well. A couple of days ago we bought some books with pictures of shapes, household objects, other common objects, etc that have both the Kazakh word and Russian word for the object underneath. We are going to use them to help us communicate with Hope. Even if we don't know the Kazakh word, hopefully there's a picture of what she's trying to say and with some pointing and gesturing we'll be able to manage when we don't have the benefit of a translator anymore. When we showed her the books yesterday we discovered that she mixes Kazakh and Russian words more than we had realized so it's a good thing the books are dual language.

We will be having Thanksgiving alone since we didn't see the other family yesterday to invite them to dinner. We heard through the grapevine that they have decided not to adopt him. Needless to say we feel terrible for both the boy and the family. I'm sure it was a very difficult decision for them and a very sad for the boy.

Well, winter has most definitely arrived here! It was 17F here today and the weather forcast promises it to be 5F the next couple of days and -9F at night. It makes for quite an invigorating walk for groceries!

No new pictures today - too busy with Thanksgiving dinner preparations. (Hah - just kidding! Chicken doesn't take that long to make.)

Happy Thanksgiving, guys! We're thinking of you and sending you warm thoughts. We're by ourselves for Thanksgiving too. We'll be watching the Macy's parade on TV in about 15 minutes, looking for the new Snoopy balloon. Take care!

P.S. CK's quote of the week: "I only like flat meat."

Bracing?! OMG! Bracing is like 30F, if the temp in in the teens or has a negative in front of it that is Bloody Frigid!! Do they have restaurants that deliver? I'd have them on speeddial! As well as asking myself...."do we need water that badly?" But then the responsible parent in me would understand the need to go out into the frozen air to provide for the family...and I would make Bill go!
Does getting dressed to go out resemble the scene in "Christmas Story" Where the mom is bundling up Randy? Does Tim look like a tick about to pop?
On the positive side, nothing will spoil while you are walking home. If there is no room in your freezer, the outside window sill work.
Tell Mike that Pantyhose then the long john bottoms and then the jeans is the warmest option, trust me.
Hugs and Love,
Bill, Tevis and Anna
